Our Presentation Structure!!
Hi everyone, how's it going??
Today, after class, I discussed with Kana and Vera how we should make presentation.
So, here's what we have decided.
We have decided our presentation into 5 different sections.
1. Introduction and Explanation about the Community (Taku)
Brief introduction about our project.
Why did we choose this topic? What is our goal? What kind of community did we visit? etc etc.
I need some pictures of the 道場.
2. Intra-cultural Communication (Vera)
What happens inside the community?
How do teachers and students communicate with each other inside the community.
How has the relationship between teachers and students changed from Edo period.
In this section, we can use the video on how they practice,
or how teachers and students communicate with each other.
3. Inter-cultural Communication (John)
How the people who's learning or teaching the sword behave outside the community.
Application of full and half moon, (negotiation) or Discerning Ability and stuff like that.
We can do some enjoyable demonstration during the presentation.
If there's a good video on the movement of full moon and half moon, I think we can use it.
4. Our Approach (Kana)
How did we apply what we have learned in the class into our project?
How did we approach to the community? (Applying something from the video on Ms. Seya)
How did we apply "True Colors" into working as a group, or into making the presentation.
(We can talk about it using each individual's color, like "Because Kana's first color is blue, she did ~.
Is it Okay for everyone?)
5. Conclusion and Summary (Erin)
Briefly overlap what we have talked.
Characteristics of 立身流's culture. How does learning or teaching sword have influence on their daily lives.
How do they keep the essence of 立身流 while adjusting the community into moden Japanese culture. etc etc
And finally, to finish our presentation, we can say, like "We learned ~ through this final projects, and the entire classes"
This is very important, but PLEASE SEND VERA A POWERPOINT SLIDES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR YOUR PART.
I know you are busy, but we need to put our all slides together.
Although we have divided into 5 different sections, all of us are supposed to understand the flow of entire presentation.
So please keep the structure in mind, what other members are gonna say,so that we don't refer to the same concept.
To Erin, you especially need to understand all of the materials to write a good report, right?
If there's any question, feel free to ask anyone!!
We only have one more day till the presentation, but I'm sure we are gonna do well!
I am sorry for not coming to the school, to the meeting tomorrow.
If I missed some important thing, please let me know.
Alright, I'll see you guys on Thursday!!
